\u00a0<\/strong>Registration is now open for the 2023 Comics Studies Society Conference, “Comics on the Margins,” coming to UNT this summer (July 27-29, 2023) at the Gateway Center<\/strong><\/p>\n

This event will feature an Artist’s Alley, exhibit tables by publishers and libraries, scholarly panels, workshops, a cosplay happy hour, and keynotes<\/a> by Dr. Frederick Luis Aldama<\/strong> (Latinx Superheroes in Mainstream Comics<\/em>), comics artist and writer Marinaomi<\/strong> (Turning Japanese<\/em>), and pioneering cartoonist Rupert Kinnard<\/strong> (Cathartic Comics, No Straight Lines<\/em>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

We will also be hosting a special session by the newly-formed Research Librarians Cohort of CSS to talk about a few projects and issues of interest specifically to librarians.<\/p>\n

There are special reduced rates for contingent faculty, librarians, K-12 teachers, graduate and undergraduate students, and you can register up until the day of the conference.<\/p>\n

This event is co-sponsored by the UNT Libraries<\/a> and the Comics Studies@UNT<\/a> community as well as several other departments at UNT<\/a> and beyond.<\/p>\n
