I had some fun playing around with different data sets to provide examples of these two visualizations.\r\n\r\nA circular, or radial cluster, dendrogram starts with more general classifications at the center and fans out to more specific classifications at the extremities. RAW give the user the option of using as many hierarchical steps as they want, and these can be in the form of strings, numbers, or dates.\r\n\r\nI found a dataset from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kaggle.com\/abcsds\/pokemongo\">Kaggle <\/a>that classified different Pok\u00e9mon based on their type or types. So to demonstrate the cluster dendrogram I used a sample dataset from RAWGraphs of taxonomic relationships in the animal kingdom. This dataset was more manageable in size so it was perfect for this visualization. The cluster dendrogram displays the hierarchical steps from left to right and sorts each element within the group vertically:\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-287 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.unt.edu\/digital-humanities\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2017\/04\/clusterdendrogram.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"863\" height=\"882\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.unt.edu\/digital-scholarship\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2017\/04\/clusterdendrogram.png 863w, https:\/\/blogs.library.unt.edu\/digital-scholarship\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2017\/04\/clusterdendrogram-294x300.png 294w, https:\/\/blogs.library.unt.edu\/digital-scholarship\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2017\/04\/clusterdendrogram-768x785.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.library.unt.edu\/digital-scholarship\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2017\/04\/clusterdendrogram-65x65.png 65w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 863px) 100vw, 863px\" \/>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nThese dendrograms don&#8217;t provide customization options like some of the other visualizations through RAW, but they do give the user a sleek, simple way to tell a story with their data.
