\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRegistration for the Digital Frontiers 2017 Conference (#DF17UNT<\/a>) is now open!\r\n\r\nJoin us for the largest and longest-running digital humanities conference in Texas, hosted here at the UNT campus on September 21-23, 2017. This year’s theme is\u00a0Exploring the Edges, Pushing the Boundaries<\/strong>. The conference’s vision is to examine research and projects involving new newly-applied technologies concepts, processes, and methodologies; to reach out to new audiences and communities, especially the under served; to probe into efforts, both mainstream and on the margins, to achieve social justice via digital humanities resistance to the status quo; and to showcase practical applications of openly available tools and resources that foster investigations that may have been impossible or deemed unanswerable in the past.\r\n\r\nThis year’s sessions include topics such as:\r\n\r\n \t- Race Humor in Digital Media<\/a><\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Preserving Archival Histories of Space Flight<\/a><\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- The Digital Humanities Research Project for Latina\/o Studies<\/a><\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Keyword Search Engine Optimization with the Latino Presence in American Art<\/a><\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Body Discourse in Video Games<\/a><\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Building a Texas Disability History Collection<\/a><\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- Archiving and Resistance in the Everyday Lives of Queer Persons<\/a><\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
- And many more!<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThis year’s keynote speakers are Stacie Williams speaking on the topic of Sustainable Digital Scholarship: Shrinking Our Footprint, Broadening Our Impact<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>and Jacqueline Wernimont, speaking on the topic of\u00a0Counting the Dead: Quantum Media, and How We Come to Matter<\/a><\/strong>.\r\n\r\nRegistration is a non-refundable $75 for non-students and $40 for full-time graduate and undergraduate students.
