While we\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0purchase\u00a0them, some professors loan a copy of their books for students to use. While the library\u2019s physical collection of textbooks is limited,\u00a0there are\u00a0also\u00a0e-reserves.\u00a0Check\u00a0out\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.library.unt.edu\/scholar-speak\/2020\/05\/31\/listen-out-loud-electronic-reserves-that-read-themselves\/\" target=\"_blank\">Listen out Loud! Electronic Reserves that Read Themselves<\/a>\u00a0by Emily Akers if you want to learn more.<br><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hathitrust.org\/\">Hathi Trust\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<br>\u00a0In collaboration with many research libraries, including UNT,\u00a0Hathi Trust\u00a0provides access to millions of free resources. You can search for books by titles, or even browse their interesting collections like\u00a0their\u00a0Women Composers\u00a0Collection or\u00a0Library Science Journals.\u00a0\u00a0<br><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/\">Google Books <\/a><\/strong><br>I have been able to find a few textbooks in\u00a0Google Books, which\u00a0claims to\u00a0be\u00a0the most comprehensive index of full-text\u00a0books.\u00a0While\u00a0many times\u00a0only a short preview is available,\u00a0the\u00a0option\u00a0to find the same book in a library near you\u00a0makes it worth a try.\u00a0<br><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/openlibrary.org\/\">Open Library<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<br>Part of the Internet Archive, Open Library offers\u00a0more than 3 million books,\u00a018,000 of which are just textbooks.\u00a0You will need to create an account to borrow many of the books, but the website features videos,\u00a0free music and images as well.\u00a0\u00a0<br><\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gutenberg.org\/\"><strong>Project Gutenberg<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<br>\u00a0I never had to buy a book in\u00a0undergraduate\u00a0thanks to Project Gutenberg, which focuses on older works with expired copyrights.\u00a0If you are studying English, or just like to read the classics, then Project Gutenberg\u00a0most likely has\u00a0you covered.\u00a0<br><\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/library.unt.edu\/services\/ill-document-delivery\/\">Interlibrary Loan\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<br>Just need a chapter while you wait for your textbook to\u00a0arrive?\u00a0While Interlibrary Loan cannot get you a textbook for a class, they might be able to get you a chapter while you wait.\u00a0ILL is a free service that can get\u00a0UNT students\u00a0access\u00a0to\u00a0books that the library doesn\u2019t already own. This service is especially\u00a0useful if you just need one article,\u00a0or a chapter\u00a0from a book, and the\u00a0electronic delivery\u00a0makes it convenient for virtual learners.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This semester will be busy enough,\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0do it alone.
