{"id":11,"date":"2013-12-11T15:40:59","date_gmt":"2013-12-11T15:40:59","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2015-03-31T14:34:51","modified_gmt":"2015-03-31T14:34:51","slug":"11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.library.unt.edu\/tdnp\/2013\/12\/11\/11\/","title":{"rendered":"The Claude News: Our Newest Historic Newspaper Collection!"},"content":{"rendered":"&#8220;The Oldest and Best Read County Seat Weekly in the Panhandle,&#8221; the<em> Claude News<\/em>, is now accessible on The Portal to Texas History.&nbsp; Through the hard work of the <a title=\"Richard S. and Leah Morris Memorial Library\" href=\"http:\/\/texashistory.unt.edu\/explore\/partners\/ARMCL\/\" target=\"_blank\">Richard S. and Leah Morris Memorial Library,<\/a> and through the generous support of the <a title=\"The Tocker Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/tocker.org\" target=\"_blank\">Tocker Foundation<\/a>, newspapers from Armstrong County&#8217;s seat, Claude, are available from across six decades.&nbsp; Originally named Armstrong City, Claude was founded in 1887 by the Ft.
