Comics Studies Society, Conference, "Comics on The Margins".

Registration is now open for the 2023 Comics Studies Society Conference, “Comics on the Margins,” coming to UNT this summer (July 27-29, 2023) at the Gateway Center

https://comicsstudies.org/2023-conference/

This event will feature an Artist’s Alley, exhibit tables by publishers and libraries, scholarly panels, workshops, a cosplay happy hour, and keynotes by Dr. Frederick Luis Aldama (Latinx Superheroes in Mainstream Comics), comics artist and writer Marinaomi (Turning Japanese), and pioneering cartoonist Rupert Kinnard (Cathartic Comics, No Straight Lines).

We will also be hosting a special session by the newly-formed Research Librarians Cohort of CSS to talk about a few projects and issues of interest specifically to librarians.

There are special reduced rates for contingent faculty, librarians, K-12 teachers, graduate and undergraduate students, and you can register up until the day of the conference.

This event is co-sponsored by the UNT Libraries and the Comics Studies@UNT community as well as several other departments at UNT and beyond.

You can find more details at the conference site linked above.

Come join us for a great event and show all of the attendees what the UNT comics community has to offer!
