The University of North Texas celebrates the 125th anniversary of our founding in 2015. Celebrate with us as we look at some memorable people, events and traditions spanning from 1890 to the current day. Please follow along as we share each week and don’t forget to leave your own remembrances in the comments section.
Each post features historical photographs, documents and memorabilia from the Archive of the University of North Texas. The University Archive is located in Willis Library, and is the home for the university’s historical documents, photos, collections and artifacts. Scholarly researchers, genealogists, historians, students, faculty and the public are all welcome to use the University Archive. If you have something you would like to contribute to the archive, or wish to get in touch, please contact us at archivesrarebooks@unt.edu.
Giving
The University Archive depends on support from friends and alumni to create projects like the 125th Anniversary blog. If you love university history, consider a tax-deductible gift to support preservation, exhibition and digitization of priceless archival materials. The University Archive is one of the few services on campus that touches the entire UNT family. By supporting the archive you will be supporting traditions and legacy that will influence the future generations of Mean Green students.
